DAVID BOWIE - Cut Contact Sheets Sukita Photo collection.
This black velvet hard cover book has been customised with a black and white picture of David Bowie, a photocopy of the Sukita image. It measures 10.5 x 13 inch x 1 inch. The cover has inside a selection of Contact Sheet photos which have been cut out and displayed individually on different blank pages within the book. Used as a sample book in order to reprint the original photographs from the Sukita photograph collection from 1972 upto 1989. Some with small stickers on indicating the photograph number.
Including 79 small photos from the contact sheets. Sizes of the phots from 3 x 4 cm upto approx 6 x 6 cm in size. plus a few photocopy paper additions on the photographs for reference. Book circa 1989.
Purchased by the Vendor in 1991 in Brisol with two large folders of the photographs. The collection has been split according to the era of David Bowies Career into an impressive 21 lots of Photographs.
Masayoshi Sukita is a renowned Japanese photographer born in 1938. He gained international acclaim for his iconic images of musicians and celebrities, most notably his long-term collaboration with David Bowie. Sukita’s creative partnership with Bowie lasted for 40 years until Bowie’s death in 2016. His striking photographs captured Bowie’s various personas, including the famous Ziggy Stardust look. Sukita’s work remains influential.
