Our auction house is digital-only, allowing you to buy from anywhere in the world.
How do I find out what's being sold?
There are a few ways to see what's being sold. You can either view what's for sale through our fully illustrated catalogue (which is released two weeks prior to auction) either on our website, Easy Live Auction, Saleroom or Invluable, or arrange a viewing for selected lots virtually or in person. please get in touch if you would like to book a viewing.
How do I bid in a timed auction?
Our timed auctions are available on this site Upcoming Auctions on Easy Live Auction, auction details can be found here and www.the-saleroom.com. These are online auctions ONLY – there is no auctioneer. It is not possible to bid by telephone or leave a commission bid. Bids have to be submitted directly via one of the previously mentioned methods.
What about condition reports?
We provide as much professional advice in lot descriptions as possible, and include multiple images of each item. If you require more information, please request an additional condition report. You can do this by email, on the lot description page on this site or on the live bidding platforms we use.
Before making a bid
Prior to making a phone or commission bid, you'll need to set up an account with us. You can do this by registering on this site or over the phone. To set up an account, we require the following details:
- Your name
- Your Address
- Photo identification (this can be a passport or driver's licence)
- Valid debit card or credit card details
Once you have your account, you are free to make bids at our auctions. You will be able to see our catalogues, as well as save any lots you are interested in. You'll also have access to our mailing list.
How can I make a bid?
You can bid for a lot in three different ways:
- Live online bidding on this site, Easy Live Auction or The Saleroom (please note that these platforms charge additional fees)
- Commission bid
- Phone bid

Do you Charge a Commission?
We charge a buying commission of 27 % inclusive of VAT
How do I place a phone bid?
To place a phone bid, please ring our office, minimum of 24 hours prior to sale starting, on 07719554036 or 01332414848 to register and to arrange the bid(s). We will require a minimum of two phone numbers to enable to the bid to be places. We will ring you five lots prior to your requested lot and you can then place a live phone bid(s).
We recommend phone bids for individuals who are unable to bid live online, don't wish to leave an auto bid on bidding platforms, or don't wish to place a commission bid on our books.
What happens after the auction?
After successfully purchasing an item, you will receive an invoice from us via email at the end of the live sale.
If purchased via online bidding platform - Payments can be made on the platform. This invoice will need to be paid within four days after the sale, or an automatic payment will be taken on the next Tuesday following the sale via online bidding platforms.
If purchased via commission or phone bid - Payment will need to be made within four days of receiving your invoice by email. We accept payments by debit card over the phone or in person.
Once the payment is fully cleared, you'll have 5 working days to collect or arrange the shipping of your items.
After-sale offers
Where an item remains unsold on auction day, should a reasonable offer be made during the week following the sale, Irita Marriott Auctioneers and Valuers reserves the right, in their position as agents, to accept on the vendor's behalf. All such sales incur the same charges as if the lot had been sold at live Auction.
What about shipping?
We provide a secure in-house postage service that goes worldwide. If you require our shipping services, please note you’ll need to request a quote after your successful bid has been made. Then the total amount of shipping and packaging will be added to your invoice.
Please note that there may be exceptions we can’t ship, but we’ll endeavour to find an alternative. This may come down to the fragility of an item, its size, value, or other restrictions. There are also some locations that we may not be able to post to.
We also provide an in house White Glove Service for the more fragile or high value items to be delivered within UK door to door. Please get in touch for a quote.
