Irish Interest: an early 19th century tooled leather box mounted with an engraved silver plaque which is inscribed 'Studies of Amber for Lady Eliza Jocelyn The 13 December 1835'.
The fitted interior with partial contents all made from amber.
Lady Elizabeth Jocelyn (1813 - 1888) was Marchioness of Londonderry, formerly Viscountess Powerscourt.
The box measures approx 22cm x 16cm x 3.5cm.
The desk seal in good order, the other items with faults. Wear to the leather hinge and one closure hook missing. Gross weight of amber approx 61.3 grams ( including the metal seal)
