A 19th Century Danish silver dinner plate with gadroon rim, the raised border with the Danish Royal Arms to centre and also engraved with Musical Trophies and Scenes from The Arts (Ballet, Opera, Masks) all punctuated by Rococo embellishments, the centre engraved Hogarth style with multiple figures and animals in a workhouse scene., hallmarked Copenhagen, 1829, maker's mark N.C within oval dotted punch for probably Nicolai Christensen, Assay mark F in oval punch for Jacob Graah Fabritius, with Zodiac Cancer mark for June/July assay submission, approx 18.65 ozt (580 grams)
Note: possibly made for Princess Caroline of Denmark, daughter of Frederik VI for her wedding on August 1st 1829
marks clear to reverse, appears to be in good condition, some wear to the border engravings
