£1,800
An outstanding example of a rare Imperial Russian Brunswick Rifle Percussion cap musket by PJ Malherbe & Cie / A Liege, which shows the rifle was made in Liege, Belgium, under contract by the Russians; the lock is stamped 944, which matches the number on the butt plate ‘944’ along with the Russian Imperial Eagle of Tsar Nicholas I, an excellent example and highly collectable.
The rifle retains a lot of original finish on the barrel, and the wood is in excellent condition overall. The barrel has all the correct proof marks, the lock itself is tight at full and half cock, and it can be dry-fired. The ramrod is with the gun, and the wood on the rifle is in excellent shape, just normal light wear.
Just over 46inches in total length. Note: Section 58 (2) no licence required in the UK.
A very good example showing minimal wear.
